I think it's bullshit that they compared two 70's American luxobarges with a brand new BMW. They could have at least used a contemporary European car, jeez.

Why do you care? Those two cars are shit, simple as. They could of tested it against an old British Leyland Jag (They have in a different special, same result. Cars of that era are shit.) it wouldn't of made a difference. It was done for comedic effect.
Seriously I have to know why do people and by that I mean Americans bitch every time we aren't nice about American cars. We say plenty of nice things about various American cars but that is always conveniently ignored. Accept you guys made a lot of shit cars but guess what? Everyone has!
Man I so tired of this but if you guys are gonna keep bitching, I'm gonna keep ranting. My advice, next time you hear someone criticise the American motor industry just imagine a C7, ZL1 & a Hellcat tandem drifting down pacific cost highway or something.

I asked why do you care about a dumb test.
Then I went on a rant about how fed up I am about people, mainly Americans bitching about British opinions on American cars. If it were a one of case every now and then I wouldn't care as much but posts about this keeping popping up that and recently being called xenophobic because I said all of Chrysler UK's models should be melted down and made into homes for the homeless have left me somewhat irritated.
I accept this probably wasn't the place to rant but I saw the word "bullshit" and then got annoyed so for that I apologise but like I said I want to know why British opinions are held so highly on cars that when ever something even barely negative is said about American cars people lose their shit and then start "bitching".

That's just Clarkson being Clarkson. At least once per season he has to go to great lengths to make it abundantly clear that American cars were utter shit 40 years ago and that we're all fat, lazy, and stupid, otherwise he'd be forced to remember that his proud country got its ass handed to it by a bunch of drunk rednecks and if it weren't for the descendants of those same rednecks his country wouldn't even exist.
